At ClearStream Wear Technologies, we have an in-house Research and Development Team responsible for our internal laboratory where we  continuously evaluate our AssetArmorTM products. Our laboratory recently underwent an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Accreditation to become accredited for Mechanical Testing. We recognize the importance of impartiality in our lab; this is especially significant since we perform testing in-house. Our laboratory is separated from production to ensure that there is no financial influence on test data. Laboratory staff are provided with impartiality and bias training to ensure the integrity of our test results.

Each of the mechanical tests that our laboratory performs is listed as an accredited test method with the Accredited Certification Body. Test methods that have received accreditation include:

  • Vickers and Rockwell Hardness testing in accordance with ASTM E18, E92, and E384;
  • Abrasion testing in accordance with ASTM G65 Method A; and
  • Rotary Impact Testing, developed for the Alberta Oil Sands.

Our laboratory participated in a proficiency test with the test method developer of the Rotary Impact Test, which is a non-standard test, and submitted the test data to the Accredited Certification Body resulting in our laboratory becoming the first lab worldwide accredited for this test method.

Internal audits are completed on a regular schedule to ensure that the quality requirements of ISO are being met. For example, an annual internal audit is completed to observe the performance of a test method and to review all laboratory operating procedures for accredited test methods. Test method compliance with the requirements of the ISO /IEC 17025:2017 standard and an audit of the Management System are also completed on a regular schedule to confirm compliance for continued accreditation.

A yearly assessment is completed by laboratory personnel to identify risks associated with:

  • traceability;
  • impartiality;
  • confidentiality;
  • equipment;
  • supply chain; and
  • business.

Our laboratory Quality Program is also reviewed annually by an Accredited Certification Body to confirm the continued quality performance of activities.

We have always prided ourselves on providing bias-free, accurate, and metrologically traceable test data and now we have the accreditation to prove it. Contact us today for more information on our laboratory services, available test methods, and AssetArmorTM products.
